Sandra Nowicki, Artist

Sandra Nowicki’s art is inspired by nature. Color and energy combined with
strong design and composition are important in her artworks. Sandra works in several art media including Collage/Mixed Media, Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, original Clay Sculpture, and hand made Felt Art Sculptures and Baskets.

Animals, especially horses, wild animals from every continent, and seashells are themes often seen in Sandra’s art. Native Americans, with their close ties to the natural world, are another artistic theme. Their beautiful costumes with an incredible variety of materials and design are also very inspiring subjects for creating dynamic and beautiful art.

Ms. Nowicki has received many awards for her artworks. During 2001, her
collage “Native American Chief” won the “Golden Palette Award” for best
“Creativity and Design” at the Kenosha County Fair. Also during 2001, Sandra won an Award of Merit at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater international textile show “A Celebration of Creativity” for her handmade felt art sculpture “Indian Pony”.

Sandra Nowicki graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. Sandra also takes art classes and workshops at Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design and the Wustum Museum in Racine, Wisconsin to keep learning new materials and techniques and to continue widening her artistic horizons.

Ms. Nowicki works as an artist, designer, and illustrator. Sandra also
teaches adult art classes in drawing, collage, sculpture, and handmade felt art.

Sandra lives in the countryside near Burlington, Wisconsin with her husband Tom, their dachshund Heidi, and four Arabian and Morab pleasure and show horses. Sandra and Tom belong to two horse clubs; the Lake County Mounted Posse, and the Dairyland Driving Club. The Nowicki’s are very active in horse events including mounted patrol, trail riding, horse shows, and carriage driving.

Sandra has also been featured in the January - February 2005 issue of Country Woman. See a copy of her article from the January-February 2005 Country Woman Magazine here. See the Country Woman magazine website at www.countrywomanmagazine.com.
